I installed the plugin and I set up the custom link to be for example mywebsite*/12345/ and there was second option to which page to redirect the attempts to go to wp-admin and by default was 404, so I left it that way. I logged out of my current session and attempt to go to mywebsite*/12345/ and the link was working, I put my username and password and pressed ENTER… It redirects me to 404 page… I tried to log in to the front of the website and I managed, I can see the WordPress bar at the top, but when I press “Dashboard”, it again redirects me to 404 page. So in short I’m locked out of my backend of the WordPress.
I deleted the plugin through FTP, BUT the changed custom link doesn’t change to wp-admin… and of course when I want to login, it doesn’t let me, but this time it says:
ERROR: Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress.
I haven’t changed any cookie settings, I’m not able to login from mobile as well, which means that this plugin changed my config files and it shouldn’t be like that, isn’t it?
What should I do now? No access to the backend and no ideas what to do?
Any solutions from you? Creators team?

  • Same problem here: I restored the access by deleting the plugin folder. Tried to reinstall, same issue.

same problem here, I used this plugin before and it only stopped working since the latest update. It always goes to the 404 page, so it is impossible to login anymore.
So instead of hiding the login URL and it blocks it.
I noticed that this is happening in Mozilla Firefox, I can still login using IE or Opera?

I’ve only tried with both Google Chrome and Safari on my iPhone, but in both browsers makes now Error for the cookies.
Edit: I’ve tried it on IE as well, but the same issue, so at least for me there is no difference in the browsers access.
I deleted the plugin with FTP, but the custom links and the stupid redirection stays the same even without the plugin, which means that they changed the wp-admin paths in the config or whatever file keeps them. I thought the plugin doesn’t change your core files, but suddenly it does, at least for me. The worst part is that I saw many videos about this plugin and I installed it without making backup before that, I have some backups, but they were weeks ago and now I’m kinda fucked, because if I restore the backup I will have access, but at the same time I will loose a lot of content in this 2 or so weeks of not having backup…

I have the same problem. I cannot get past the login page. Nothing loads. Pretty frustrated and concerned at this point…

Thankfully, I still have one window open where I’m logged in. I’ve tried several changes and nothing works for other devices/browsers.

Is it possible to manually change any altered core coding to ‘revert’ the changes made by this plug-in without using a backup? Can the devs explain where these changes are made?

I wonder why there is no reply from the developer? It would be good to get this sorted, as this is otherwise a great plugin.

    Hello @nzaykov ,

You must have a conflict with another plugin, because if you can not connect without the plugin is present, the problem can not come from the plugin.

Two solutions to find the problem:

    – Disable the plugins one by one while keeping the plugin WPS Hide Login activated, to find the plugin that comes into conflict.

    – Delete the plugin folder via FTP, if this continues you have a problem somewhere else, because it only works when the plugin is activated.

@nicolaskulka thanks for the suggestions. I figured it out, I deleted the plugin folder with FTP, but it doesn’t let me to access and the links stayed the same. I had to login from the front, you need to be admin and than to go manually to the Dashboard from the WP bar, I don’t know why, but only worked for me when I manually pressed the WP bar and the Dashboard setting, it doesn’t work with me if I manually entered the link “wp-admin”. Than inside I had to refresh the permlinks, and then it started working as usual.
Now I’m afraid to install the plugin again your plugin is recommended by many people, but and a lot of people are complaining from the same problem since the last update…

You see, but the plugin works properly, there are 300 000 active installations.

You install it, by default it is /login then you set it as you wish. Remember to update your permalinks.

But do I need to update my permalinks before I log out and try it for first time, or after? First time when I installed it, there was 2 options – one was the path to wp-admin to be changed, I choose let’s say mysite.com/123456 as path. The second option was for redirection, I left it as it is, I believe was */404 I left it that way. I didn’t refresh the permalinks, but logged out and tried to access, I type mysite.com/123456 and there was the normal wp-admin login panel for WordPress, I put my credentials and hit Enter, than I was redirected to */404 with error that this page does not exist.

You install it, you modify the url of login, then you update your permalients in case, you disconnect and from there it will be the new login URL that you chosisi previously to connect.

If this does not work at home, you have a conflict with other plugins or your theme.

Okey, I will try it one more time, but this time I will make backup of my website before. Thanks
