I'm just not getting this !

    Hi I’ve registered a domain and transferred it to dreamhost;have downloaded zip files of WordPress and a theme. but can’t seem to get either to install. I’ve tried the install from dreamhost and it says I already have wordpress at that domain??? any yet i just can’t get started – I’m even going through Lynda.com and can’t find anything that gets me going – where am I going wrong???

    Hi Elan, that’s spelt wrong its https://www.dealing-with-separation.com – there should be a n ‘a’after the p.

    Looks your domain is parked at godaddy I typed this https://www.dealing-with-separation.com/

    Hi Elan, I transferred it over to dreamhost yesterday, and it was there that I was getting the error message when pressing button to install word press. On my accounts page at dreamhost it displays the domain as moved. Still at a loss – Regards Martin

    Did you uploaded that wordpress folder?

    Did you change your Nameservers? IT looks like the domain is pointed to a GoDaddy landing page. You’ll need to go into the domain maintenance with GoDaddy and enter the Dreamhost nameservers they provide you. Then it’ll take about 24 hours to take effect. I hope this helps!

    Hi Tim, will check out go daddy,and will pace the user and server detail with them and hope it works. I’m grass green to this and thought word press would be an easy option to get up and running. Looks like I need a degree meantime still trying to figure out some of the Jargon. Lynda.com has some stuff on setting up but the tutors doing it bluehost! Thanks Martin
