I’m getting moderated when replying to threads

Hello,

In doing my normal daily work, helping users of our plug-in by answering their questions, I start getting a message on each reply I make: “This post has been held for moderation by our automated system and will be manually reviewed by a moderator.”

I’m worried this might be a glitch since it’s strange that my helpful replies are getting moderated. So I’m a little confused and also scared that it might not be in a moderation state but instead be in some limbo. People are waiting for my response to their questions.

Grateful for any help the moderators can provide. I’m also curious why this happened in the first place. If I didn’t go back to re-read the threads I might not have noticed this issue at all.

It looks like you posted several replies in about 90 seconds, so the automatic spam filters decided to flag your posts for manual review. Nothing personal, and you’re not being formally moderated.

Hi Steven, thank you for clarifying, I’m really grateful. It looks like the two latest replies I made were about 1 minute apart (less than the 90 seconds). In general if there are multiple topics that I’m replying to, I should pause at wait some time before replying? Reason being that it’s possible it could only take a few seconds to answer a question I’m familiar with.

Is it that only 1 reply 90 seconds from a previous reply would trigger this automatic filter? Is it possible that there might be some other bug or glitch which may have been a factor here? I just want to make sure that there isn’t a glitch associated with my account that is out of the ordinary.

It has nothing to do with you. Akismet watches everything and sometimes decides it will not open the pod bad doors.

Hi Steven,

I got the moderation message again. It was just a single post reply and no adjacent replies for that 90 seconds limit. Seems like a glitch here. Is it possible that there is some issue with Akismet? I’m a bit confused about this and it seems like something unnatural is bugging out here.

Just relax. Really. It’s automated stuff happening. Really. I’m not gaslighting you on this. I happens, it learns, it gets better.

Ok, thanks for responding so quickly. So these are false positives and the system is being trained to prevent it from making these types of mistakes in the future?

Hi Steven,

It seems that my posts are still getting moderated. I’m not worried about gaslighting as you mentioned earlier. But I think that the anit-spam system is reasonably complicated and worried that some glitch in the system has put my account into a limbo-state. It doesn’t seem to be learning out as these replies are getting moderated each time. How are bugs with the anti-spam system managed/reviewed – is there a department or team that can help?
