    Hi,
The plugin is not properly installed, files are missing. Reinstall it.

I found the 404 file where it should be. I have this happening on a few sites.

I downloaded the plugin and uploaded it manually. could the permission be wrong? Maybe other conflict that is giving it a 404?

Do you know how much time we have before Google shuts down people without APIs too?

    Thanks

If the file is uploaded on the server, and visible via FTP (and it is) and you set it to 777 and still can’t get it via HTTP then you’ll have to contact your hosting provider as they are blocking it purely based on the filename. It’s just a plain old JS file … don’t know why that is be happening. Htaccess can also be the problem and some security plugins. As a hack, you can copy/paste its content on the end of gmw-admin.js. GMW will work, 404 will stay.

Have no idea about the API keys but we made a contingency hack so even if you don’t enter the key map will work.

It’s a Mod-Security Conflict like the one that happens in Woothemes. https://docs.woothemes.com/document/jquery-cookie-fails-to-load/

I deleted my rules on my VPS and the problem went away. I put the rules back and it came back. Now I just have to figure out which rule it is.

Glad you found it source of the issue.

Glad you made that workaround for the API. I just tested it and that buys me some time with my Mod-Security plus I was having issues getting an API on another site not on this server. I’m not at a point there where I need your help yet.

    Thanks

    @webfactory,

I found an article on how to whitelist the cookie.js file that was giving me the 404. Tomorrow, I plan to either try myself or talk to my host about whitelisting it. If I am successful, would my procedure be useful for you if I posted it? I don’t know if others could use it.

Yes, please, post it. We’ll put it in FAQ. I’m sure there’s more people out there that had this problem.

I’m having the same problem (GMW admin panel not working), but I’m not quite sure how to solve this issue.

Is it a setting, that I have to sort out with my host provider or …?

@atheneit no it’s definitely not a hosting provider issue. If what @bobcatou linked doesn’t help you’ll have to provide additional details about the problem.

I have attaches an image taken from inspectio the webpage.

    Does this provide any help?

If you are sure what @bobcatou linked isn’t helping then we can assume some files are missing. Deactivate and delete the plugin. Add and activate it again using the usual way – Plugins, Add new … You won’t use any widgets by doing this.

But again, try @bobcatou’s method first.
