I'm Being Ddosed Right Now! What Do I Do?

  • I have been having issues with ddosing lately and it is happening right now, the wp-login page has been visited over 2,500 times in the last 2 minutes, what do I do to stop this?? How do I find out where it is coming from? I have the wp-statistics plugin but can’t find the attacker on the map that is provided.

    Wordfence Security can throttle all traffic and block the ones you say are being over-aggressive.

    How do I find out where it is coming from?

    That really does not matter since even Wordfence will not be able to predict the next IP to be used.

    Well… sort of. You really need to make sure that your site is deloused first.

    Installing Wordfence or any security plugin may help but if you didn’t clean up the hacks then you’ll be playing whack-a-mole with the hacks and the plugin.

    In this particular case, the word “security” is merely part of the name of the suggested throttler that would/could greatly slow the attack rather than having to take the site down altogether for a while.
