It didn’t take much persuading to come back, as the analytics convertor that I WAS using is just swamped with bloat and pop-up upsells.

Anyway, just one complaint really, and it’s more of an annoyance than a complaint:

In the back-end, where Site-Kit insists on plonking itself directly under the WordPress dashboard settings, the only way that you can get back to the WordPress Dashboard is by clicking onto ‘Dashboard’ rather than ‘Home’ (my preferred way of working), as Google Site-Kit is obliterating the ‘Home’ button, probably due to a faulty z-index setting.

Any chance of fixing this on the next upgrade?

Glad to hear it @deeveearr, and happy to have you back as a Site Kit user, welcome aboard again!

When you mention Site Kit is obliterating the “Home” button, Site Kit by default has it’s top level menu item below the main WordPress “Dashboard” menu item, as you’ll see below on a typical install:

Is the “Home” button which you’re referring to, the sub menu home button as you’ll see above? If so, this “Home” button should only appear if you have the main WordPress dashboard menu item open. This is true whether you use Site Kit or not.

Let me know anyway and I can look into this further. You may wish to include screenshots if you wish.

@deeveearr Based on your insights I believe you may have discovered a bug and I’ve created the following GitHub issue:
    https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/7171

Please do let me know if what’s added to that GitHub issue is the same experience as you’re reporting.

Just to let you know that there was in fact an existing issue open for this, see below:
    https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/6907

This issue has been prioritized, you therefore hopefully won’t have to wait long before a fix is out. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts, and I can absolutely understand the inconvenience. The less clicks to get to where you want to go, the better! Feel free to chime in on that issue if you wish. We’ll keep you updated once a fix is out for this. Thank you!

    Hi @jamesosborne

Yes I should have mentioned that Site-Kit needs to be opened before you can see the effect of the invisible WordPress dahboard icons.
