• Everything worked fine for about five years… then I tinkered… don’t ask me why!

For some reason I can’t imagine, I removed the references on the wordpress dashboard about where data was located – you know the bit, where it asks if you want it to be in a different director, say so… I left it blank and saved.

Consequently I can’t get anywhere – can’t log in, can’t do anything… all anyone gets when they try and find my blog is ‘Error connecting to database’. However, I know the sql files are still there (as I’ve used mySQL to look at them, download them and import to a mySQL on a different server).

Is there any (sensible) way to reinstall wordpress and tell it what mySQL files to look at?

    S
