"Illegal string offset 'box_blank'" error

Was working well, suddenly “Illegal string offset ‘box_blank'” error has occurred across the entire site. Many sites using this plugin have been affected: E.g.: https://www.google.com/search?q=Warning%3A+Illegal+string+offset+’box_blank’+in+wp-content%2Fplugins%2Fseo-smart-links-business%2Fseo-smart-links-business.php .
I also notice that the home page at https://www.prelovac.com/products/seo-smart-links/ is entirely blank…. without any content (probably due to server error?)
Some connection may be between the offset error and the home page being blank?
