• I’ve been hoping for improvement for a few years now, but unfortunately the ultimate disaster came with the last upgrade. We use the Divi builder for our and our customers’ sites and Divi has simply been ignored for years (not everyone uses Elementor!).

    Everything that bothers me about BetterDocs:

    • With the upgrade, a lot of what was individually customized in settings was simply put back.
    • Shortcode placed on a page and poof, the theme-biulder function is overridden and the page has a title and a sidebar. This applies to all pages after the update. (Tip: In the Divi-Builder a layout must be created in the Theme-Builder -> This can only be activated for the BD start page, all subpages remain unaffected)
    • Do not use the Divi-Builder for the Docs pages… you will get problems with the display with “Instant-Answer”.
    • Not everything is translated and you also have to install Loco-Translate. Why is it not possible to translate the complete texts that are displayed in the frontend?
    • I don’t even want to start talking about Instant-Answer here. I haven’t come across anything like this since the early days of WordPress… The best thing to do is simply not to use it
      –> If you do, then turn off the chat, because you have no possibilities to customize important things here.
    • BetterDocs UI???? Why are you doing this to us? I’m glad you can switch back to the classic view
      — No possibility to access deleted content (no recycle bin)
      — No quickedit option
      — Only practical to quickly move texts from one category to another or to move the order

    It looks great from the outside, but under the hood… unfortunately the upgrade didn’t help … oh yes… an AI function is now built in… WOW

    Before the standard phrase “Please contact our support” comes up … I and some of my colleagues have already done so and the answer has always been that you are working on it. Unfortunately, we have been waiting for several years now for something to happen. Unfortunately nothing!

    As I wrote in the title, some of my colleagues and I are looking for a more usable alternative. If you have any tips, please feel free to write to me.

    I have tried to review all of your queries:
    For 01: I have checked on my end with customising few settings from using older version, and then update the latest one but didn’t able to find any issues. As you can see: https://d.pr/v/yUcdOQ. Also, As you have mentioned, in your case after updating, all the pervious settings pull back. So, it would be helpful if you could share us more details about what specific settings were changed after the update so that we can check again this properly.

    For 02: Really sorry! I can’t able to understand this issue properly. Could you please share us a screen recording of showing how to reproduce this issue ? So that we can try to check and reproduce this issue from our end.

    For 03: I have created my Docs Page using Divi builder, and then Enabled the Instant Answer and found that It’s working perfectly here, as you can see on my video: https://d.pr/v/5NlHQV. So, kindly, make sure that you have assigned it to all of your pages from the setting, as you can see: https://d.pr/i/62yAkv

    For 04: Regarding the translation about the few complete texts, It would be great if you could share us what specific text you didn’t able to translate so that we can check and assist you with that easily. Also, you can easily replace few text with your own one, under the Single doc like (Share your feelings, Share Your Article, Still stuck?     For 05: If you will navigate to BetterDocs Settings > Instant Answer, then you will find lots of customisation things there, If you didn’t explore it yet, kindly check if your preferred customisation included here or not. If you don’t find the one you wanted, kindly let us know. We will try our best to include those for you as well. Since the Instant Answer is our PRO feature, we don’t want to discuss more about it here. It would be great if you could share your query directly here.

    For 06: Regarding BetterDocs UI, we actually tried to show a smart view for the documents you have. Where you’re getting all the docs categorised nicely and Yes, where from you can change the categories for your docs by simple drag & drop. However, I have also marked your words as a suggestion to include this feature like (Quick edit & Trash) on the BetterDocs UI as well so that you won’t need to switch to Classic UI for doing these only. We will work on it, I’m forwarding this to our DEV now.
