Hey guys, im using wordpress 2.1.2 and am having a problem with uploading. When I try and upload a file via: ‘Manage –> Post –> Browse –> Upload’ im getting the problem. The error message is:

Unable to create directory C:\Inetpub\wwwroot/wp-content/uploads/2007/03. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Well, the directory is writable. But I can clearly see a problem with the path (if you look at the slashes in the file path). So ive searched google and this forum, but it seems nobody has had this problem. Im sure there is an easy fix for it. Anyone got any ideas?

You have to set the uploads directory to 777. Upload an image using WordPress. Change directory permissions back to default.

Thanks doodlebee, the problem i had was that the uploads folder was in the wrong place. It was in my root www dir not in the wp-content folder. I created it and set permissions and it works now. Thanks for ur links.

I have the same problem as james, I use MS IIS and have the same problem with the slashes and backslashes. I would realy like to run it on iis locally to design some templates. any help is welcome.
