IIS 500 Error on media uploaded

  • Odd problem. If I upload a PDF it works just fine to upload and checking on the server it’s there. But if I hit the url for the PDF in the uploads folder I get a 500 internal server error. If I manually copy and paste / replace the PDF file then it works just fine.

    Same thing with images. It creates all the different sizes which work just fine but the original file gives me a 500 error until I replace them manually by copy and pasting on the server.

    No clue where to start.

    Also when I look in Windows explorer it shows me the image sizes WP automatically made but not the original file (even if I turn on hidden files) but if I copy and paste it says it’s there.
