• We often want to run find & replace on our multi-site instance that includes the wp-options table, but we have found that it can often overwrite the values for saved BSR profiles..

So a profile that changed “foo” to “bar” can turn into a profile that changes “bar” to “bar” as “foo” has been replaced in the bsr_profiles option value.

Is there a way to ensure that this specific wp_option value is never modified by BSR, so these profiles can be retained?

    Hi Jake,

Better Search Replace Support Team here. Thanks for reaching out with your query, we would be happy to assist!

By default, BSR should be skipping options that the plugin uses, like bsr_profiles, bsr_update_site_url, and bsr_data.

May we know if you are using the latest version of the plugin?

Also, are you running the search/replace on the main site, or the subsite? On the main site, you have the option to choose all tables, including subsite tables.

I think to avoid this issue when running BSR on the main site, please try selecting only the main site’s tables (i.e. tables without the subsite ID in them, like wp_options, wp_users, etc).

When running BSR on a subsite, only the subsite’s tables can be searched and replaced.

Let us know how it goes for you.
