Ignore a subdomain
-
We have a worpdress network installed on the server and not to add each subdomain manually we insert “* .domain.com.br” into subdomains with the document root in “/ public_html” and “not redirected”.
The problem is that when I try to update the ssl certificate, wpmu takes the address “server.domain.com.br” as if it were just another subdomain of the network.
This address should be ignored as this is the main address of vps.
How do I get wpmu to ignore this address?
-
Ricardo,
where exactly are you inserting
*.domain.com.br
? In the network dashboard? In an apache or nginx conf file? In a dnsmasq or other DNS tool config file? And what do you mean for “when I try to update the ssl certificate, wpmu takes the address(…)”? As far as I know, SSL cert management is made outside WordPress and should only affect the status of your (un)secure connection.
I’m not sure exactly what you’re describing, could you please be a bit more clear?

Rudá Almeida, I’ll try to be clearer.I have a VPS whose hostname is “server.mydomain.com” and the main domain is “mydomain.com”In this VPS I have:
- A wordpress network installed and configured to work with a subdomain.
- The wordpress network is installed in the same domain “mydomain.com”
- Within the cPanel I created a subdomain entry with “* .mydomain.com”
</ ul>
So when I go to the server by putty and execute the command to renew the ssl certificate distributed by cPanel it tries to access a file through the path “server.mydomain.com/file.txt” but returns an error because it ends up being directed to The WPMU.I need this address “server.mydomain.com” not to be sent to WPMU.

Desculpem as repeti??es. N?o foi minha inten??o.
Alguém tem alguma ideia de como posso resolver meu problema?

Sorry for the repetitions. It was not my intention.
Anyone have any ideas how to solve my problem?
I am having difficulty understanding your setup.
I assume your VPS is running Linux and has an Apache web server running.
Where does mydomain.com point? I mean, where (what directory) would I put an index.html file so it would display if I attempt to go to mydomain.com?
In your post, it seems that is the location you installed your WordPress Networked Multi-site. Because it is a sub-domain installation, then you have blog sites with URLs such as, abc.mydomain.com and xyz.mydomain.com.
If I understand your problem correctly, you need to use server.mydomain.com for some other purpose. Am I correct?
Concerning the certificate renewal: You should be able to upload the CA files to the cPanel (depending on what functionality your hosting provider gives you). I have had cases where I could upload certificates via the cPanel (from my computer, not the server) and others where I had to put them in a “trouble ticket” to my hosting provider’s technical support staff.
If you reply, just reply in Spanish. If I have any trouble reading your reply, I will use Google Translate.
