• I used to have an IFTTT-channel for automated publishing my WordPress-posts on Facebook. For some time no, this does not work any more.
I now find the time to search for a possible cause, and I think this may be caused by the fact that I have defined a login slug in the ‘Hide Backend’ settings of iThemes.

Is there a way to enable IFTTT to make a connection, other than go back to the standard wp-admin?

  • You might want to try reconnecting your IFTTT account. I just tried connecting my IFTTT account to a WordPress site that had iThemes Security’s “Hide Backend” changing the location of the login slug and everything worked fine. So my suggestion would be to try disconnecting and then reconnecting through IFTTT.

If Benjamin’s suggestion does not help, please try disabling the Default Blacklist setting (if enabled) in the Banned Users module and see if that helps.

    Hi Benjamin and Dwinden,

thanks for the suggestions for a solution. I tried reconnecting, but without effect.

Disabling the default blacklist setting seems to do the trick (at least for WordPress to Facebook, I get another error for the Twitter-channel I will look into later on). I’m not sure though that having the default blacklist disabled is a very good idea securitywise ??
Could it be a solution to have the IFTTT-IP added to the wihitelist?
