I have been using this plugin for many years across dozens of sites and it has worked perfectly with every version of WordPress I am using at the time. It is mind blowing seeing the report of how many attempts there are daily of bots trying to penetrate your sites but WP Bruiser is there to defend your site from hack attacks. Advice: Always use a very strong password on your admin users anyhow, that should go without saying!
I also recommend the (paid but very well priced) Contact Form 7 extension if you’re using that (awesome) Form and Country Blocking to block attempts from countries you don’t need accessing your site.
The author Mihai keeps it updated with every WordPress release and he also responds promptly to questions when asked.
