If using conditional logic, then merge tag doesn’t work

I have a form that I had to remove the slider on because I was using conditional login to only show the slider if a certain option was chosen prior. The slider shows just fine if the logic conditions it to appear. But for all calculations on the form, the merge tag mapped to the slider just doesn’t work. No numbers are sent to the merge tag. So the rest of the form doesn’t work like it should.

But if the slider loads with the rest of the form, it’s fine.
