if the image(files) are optimized on the server?

    Hello, please tell me if the image(files) are optimized on the server? That is, when you upload a file of 5 MB, after processing it goes to the server for example 2 MB, or is it on my hosting and there is 5 MB? Also, if its size decreases, as I set in the settings 1280 to 960, then does it decrease to these sizes on the server?

    Hi @silasveta,

    Thank you for using Optimole.

    No, original images are not optimized on your server, those files remain the same size as they are now, Optimole creates Optimized version of the images on our CDN and those are used on the website when loading instead of your original images.

    However, you can offload all the images to Optimole to save space in your hosting server – https://docs.optimole.com/article/1323-cloud-library-browsing (this is a new functionality of the plugin that we have recently released)
