IF statements based on text field

    Hi, I’m trying to use the contents of hidden DS field to determine a calulation in a Calculated field, and I can’t get it to work. I’m trying something like this:

    IF(fieldname62=”OR”, fieldname17*fieldname38, fieldname17*fieldname39)

    Can text fields not be used in this way to control calculations?

    Hello,

    The issue is simple, in javascript the equality operator is the double symbol: “==” because the symbol: “=” is used for assignment. So, the correct equation would be:

    IF(fieldname62=='OR', fieldname17*fieldname38, fieldname17*fieldname39)
