• Given all the bugs and problems with 2.5 and the fact that I can no longer access parts of my site (pages inaccessible, posts ok though)… can someone please advise me what the safest/easiest way is to revert back to 2.3.3?

    Do I just overwrite all the WP files again with the 2.3.3 codebase and hit the ‘upgrade.php’ script again?

    Appreciate your help. Thanks.

  • If you backed up your database first, then simply delete all of the WP 2.5 files on your server and re-upload WP 2.3.3 as a fresh install. Remember to upload your old WP config file.

    Once you have a fresh install, restore the database on the server from your backup.

    When you login to WP again, all should be well.

    can’t we lose our incumng links in this way!!!

    NEVER! You drop the wp tables from your database AND restore the 2.3.x backup you made before the upgrade.
    Upload the WP. 2.3.x files.
    DO NOT RUN INSTALL OR UPGRADE!!!
    Just go and see your blog…

    @mayooresan, your question doesn’t make sense.

    @moshu
    If we restore using XML file, then we will loose our incumng links rite? unless we use show post name permalink structure!!
