If I use customizer by plugin is that any restriction in WordPress policy?

    I know WordPress mandatory to use customizer settings API for every WordPress theme. Now my question is if I added customizer settings field by a plugin like kirki, unyson is that any restriction in WordPress policy?

  • Using the API is mandatory if you wish to submit the final theme to the WPORG theme repository. The repo’s guidelines do not allow any submitted themes to rely on specific plugins for standard functionality (such as the theme customizer). However, if this is just for you own use, you can do whatever you like., ??

    Kirki is allowed in themes in the www.remarpro.com repository.
    Many themes already use it so you won’t have any issues with that.
