If I update, what does it happen?

Hi! I need help in order to update the theme.
Wordpress says me to update the theme, but I’m a bit concerned about that:
if i update, does my things rest the same? I mean, will my posts and all my configuration layout be deleted?

Hi there,
If you have code changes (PHP) in theme files, you should create a child theme and copy over the files you have changed there.
This will allow your changes to survive future theme updates. If you directly edit the theme’s files, all changes will be lost once you update.Have a look at this guide to learn more about child themes and how to create one https://www.cssigniter.com/ignite/beginners-guide-child-themes/
If on the other hand you dont have any of these, you will lose nothing.
Always backup first though.
