If I redirect my free wordpress blog to own hosting wordpress blog

    I’ve been study redirect article online recently, but I just quite don’t understand all.
    I have a blog on free wordpress.com is lifeasaforeignerintaiwan.wordpress.com, but I make a new website hosting on hostgator, so I can customize my blog more. (This 2 blog have same content) And my old blog have more traffic because I’ve been blog more than a year, but right now I want to focus on my new site: eazychinese.com here.
    So question is I heard redirect site will hurt your ranking on searching and else….What should I do in this situation will be the best for my blog?
    + WordPress.com shop have redirect site function, but it show” wordpress.com blog to your new blog by performing permanent (301) redirects for all of your content.”
    what if my new blog already have same content (because I import it when I move )already? I only want to they redirect the URL is that will be ok to use that?

  • A 301 redirect to your new site will be fine. That is just redirecting the URL to the new content.
