If I deactivate Plugin Does renaming remain

    Hi,

    Can I do the rename then deactivate the plugin without losing the renaming? Also what does “Rename and Retitle” option mean?

    If I rename and retitle do I have to worry about broken image links in my posts at all?

    Hi @yoyoma1974,
    you can safely deactivate or remove Phoenix Media Rename: the rename process is permanent and the plugin is not required to access renamed files.

    The “Rename and Retitle” option allows you to rename the file and change the title of the attachment page automatically generated by WordPress when you add a file to media library.

    The retitle operation cannot create issue with broken link, but the rename process can have some issue with other plugins, so it is better to test the operation on a test file (you can load an image, mount it in a new page, rename the file, check that your page has been correctly updated and delete everything).
