If I click “Optimize Now”, will I be given any control?

    Hi. I’m trying out Photo Gallery Version 1.7.4 (free version). My photo galleries are a little slow to load. That’s probably because I uploaded PNG images for better quality and some protection against degradation. I am concerned that if I click “optimize now”, my photographs could be degraded, visibly. Will I be given any control over the image compression? Will I be given the option to ‘undo’ the operation, if I wish to? Thank you.

    Hello, dear @alan9000, thanks a lot for your question,

    There are two methods employed to optimize gallery images with the new functionality – compression and WebP generation,

    For WebP it is possible, as the existing images are not altered – the new ones are generated instead, for example for test.jpg we have test.jpg.webp.
    But for image optimization we sadly don’t have any rollback functionality as of now. Nevertheless it is definitely on our roadmap for future updates,

    Thank you for clarifying, Nikita. If I convert all my gallery images to WebP, using some other WP optimization plugin, will my 10Web Photo Gallery still work properly?
