I’m about to change the permalink structure to all posts to improve SEO, so the question is if WordPress does create the 301 redirects for all the posts or I have to do it on my own/with the help of a plugin, etc.

  • No, it doesn’t. If you change a permalink you need to set up any 301’s yourself, or if you can find a plugin that works in that case.

    Okey thank you!!

Do you have been consider if you want to change your permalink? Because if all of your post or pages URL have been indexed on search engine, this is will be affect for your site ranking.

As I understand that is unless a 301 redirection is set up for the posts. Thing is now my permalink structure is /%year%/%month%/%day%/%postname% and for better SEO it should be /%postname%/

That’s not actually true. It may have been in the years past, but Google is way to smart to worry about a few extra characters in your URL’s. For a lot of clients I recomend leaving dates in the URL’s so people can easily see when each article was published and how relevant it might be.
