Coming across the case of a keyword with an apostrophe, “John’s” gets tagged as “johns”. Is this something that has been talked about before? Where if there is the apostrophe present, then “John’s” gets tagged “John”

Now _that_ is a bug. And no: no one has mentioned it before. I’ll put it on the calendar!!

FYI, development happens here, if that is of interest to either you or other people you’re working with:

Hey, there @nahummadrid! If you’d like to, you can checkout the current master branch of the Git repository to see if it resolves your issue for you? If you can confirm, I’ll go ahead and push the change to the WordPress repository.

@dragonflyeye What is the change we are looking for? I just tried a manually published post “John’s New Car” and the tag was stored as [john’s] where before it was being saved as [johns]

Or are we looking for [john] to be saved? I guess now I can see usefulness in saving [john’s] with the apostrophe too! But is that what you meant to do?

Will this update by any chance also address quoted words/phrases too in the same way?

Yeah, well first: I misread your ask. Whoops! And I included the entire possessive word. ??

But now that I realize you’re asking for tages _that do not include the possessive_ I can adjust for that. I think perhaps this ought best be a setting for the plugin: “Check here to save possessive nouns with the possessive article intact.” Or somesuch? Thoughts?

I can both cases being useful. But probably the non-possessive would be more important to store. Really good though

Ok, so after a bunch of work, I’ve got an entirely new release candidate ready for review. I’d be interested to see what you thought and if you had any issues with it? This version has your option not to preserve the ‘s in a possessive article under settings. But the whole thing has been a major refactor of the plugin (it was due):
