If and how to sitemap PDF (text) files?

    Is it necessary to include in the sitemap also PDF files, that are linked to posts, and how?

    By default (if I remember it correctly and did not do it by myself), the YOAST plugin excludes the “Media (attachment)” post type in XML Sitemap menu. But are the PDF text-files also considered as media?
