When I open my website using Firefox it looks fine. If I view the source, it tells me in the meta section that it was generated using WordPress 2.8.4

If I open it in IE8 some (but not all) of the pictures don’t show up, and the comments section won’t load. When I view the source on the home page it tells me it was generated using WordPress 2.7.1 This is not just a caching issue. It happens on computers that have never viewed this site before.

I’m at a complete loss where to start trying to run this down. Any ideas?

Well, I went in and renamed the “super-cache” directory in my wordpress installation, and I think it helped. I don’t know if that’s going to cause future problems, or why that cache directory was there, but I guess I’ll find out.

If anyone can put my mind at ease about that directory I’d be grateful.

IE7, IE8 and FF all load fine for me and the source views all say 2.8.5. If it really doesn’t turn out to be a caching issue it would be a mystery to me. Are the clients you are testing from on a network that is using any type of web caching proxy devices? Seems far fetched, I know, but I guess it could be possible.

You have not been using a super cache plugin?

I think I had the plugin installed for a while, and apparently when I uninstalled it, it didn’t remove its old cache directory. All is well with the world now, or at least with this website. Thanks!
