• Just redid my .css after upgrading to 1.5. Things are looking fine in Firefox, but my sidebar is placed all the way at the bottom of the blog on IE. Moreover, there seems to be some margin errors on IE as well. Take a look at what I mean:

Any help I could get on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

  • I had the same problem. Clear your cache. If necessary define width for sidebar and reduce the content width by 3px (or better define content in % and sidebar with margin-left in pixels). Should work fine.

I tried what you suggested, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem. My menu is still borked on IE. I’m not much of a code writer, so I guess my problem shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

this is a known issue with IE. as far as i know, there is no fix. my old site uses movable type, and on that site i simply defined tables in the index file. this worked well. i’m not sure if that will work with wordpress or not… i’m about one hour into the software myself and still have a lot to do to get everything moved over to the new site and working.

here’s hoping there’s a css fix, but if it can be done with tables in WP (i honestly don’t know if it can) then that seems to work well too.

Thanks…. Fortunately, I managed to debork it last night. Just took out the width for the sidebar and things mysteriously began to appear as they should.

Marmot, looking good now (in IE I mean). Good to know it worked for you ??
