IE problems v7-9 – Date entry pop-up doesn't work

When viwing the calendar (front end), if you click on one of the entries,the button doesn’t work. I think it’s a jQuery thing, so updated the file jquery.simplemodal.1.4.3.min.js with jquery.simplemodal.1.4.4.min.js content – but no difference.
