thanks but this stuff is very difficult to understand and i’m not certain it has anything to do with my I.E. issues…or does it?

    please advise. thanks.

    well you have
<ul> and<li> tags open and no doctype declaration is fairly serious

ok, well to start with the first no doctype error, in order to be able to edit the borders around the middle section of my site, in put <div id=”outer_wrapper”> above <?php get_header(); ?> on page.php, index.php and single.php.

should i not have put it there?

    also, regarding the open

      and

    • tags, where do i find them?

this is my first wordpress site so i’m having a lot of difficulty understanding in which files and on which lines these errors exist.

    please advise. thanks!

sorry, that second part got muddled.

regarding the open ul and li tags, where do i find them?

your theme’s header.php should have had the doctype in it. If not, look at how the default theme’s header.php looks like

as for the errors, click on the line number by the error. it will take you to the html markup code – from there you should be able to tel if it is plugin or theme related or something you have messed up

thanks! back to my original question though, how do i add a fix so that in I.E.:

    1. my page is centered
    2. the h5 text in the footer is smaller

    ????????? thanks!
