Ideas on specific conflict with theme?

I know this conflict is specific to the theme I am using because I changed themes and the behavior did not repeat.
I am using the theme MOTOBLOG from wolfthemes and for some reason their post template creates two divs. entry-media and entry-content. When using this plugin the event gets pulled into both divs and I end up with repeated details.
This is not a feed issue. I have one event that I created in the backend. It is definitely a theme related issue. just fishing for some help as Wolfthemes isn’t quick to answer support ticket.
Wondering if I can create an event template and have AI1EC use that instead of a standard post template. I could copy and past the code from one page to the other and just omit the entry-content div, but don’t know how to tell timely to use the new template instead.
just a shot in the dark….
