    Hi there,
We offer PayPal as a payment gateway on our site and have had no real issues. That said when Netherland customers purchase via PayPal, they end up using their iDEAL gateway – somehow it’s linked to PayPal. The problem is that PayPal doesn’t see the finds arrive and the transaction doesn’t complete.

I called PayPal and they say that there is no pending transaction and nothing shows up on their end.

However, the customer has provided me with bank statements that do indeed reflect the payment being taken from their balance.

    What should I do here?

    Thanks, Julio

  • Same problem with iDEAL on Paypal and this plugin

    Plugin Support Syde Niklas

    Hi @proxyman & @archker,

    Apologies for the trouble.
Can you please visit the “Webhooks Status” dashboard and first click “Resubscribe” and then “Simulate” after?
For Alternative Payment Methods, correctly configured webhooks are important in case the buyer does not return to the site after the payment.

According to PayPal, if you are unable to complete the transaction within three hours of invoking the checkout flow, PayPal automatically refunds the money to the buyer, so there shouldn’t be a scenario where funds are going “missing”.

If “Logging” was enabled in the plugin settings during these orders, then the plugin log files should contain more details about the payments with a Debug ID. This Debug ID can be shared with the PayPal merchant support to find eventual payments in their system. When there is anything not working as you would expect, enabling logging is the first best thing you could do so we can provide better assistance.

Alternative Payment Methods can also be disabled with the “Disable funding sources” setting if you prefer to hide them for the time being. Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
