• Hi Liang,

Here’s an idea for this plugin. I want to create flashcard sets like this:

    set 1 (6 cards)
    set 2 (6 cards)
    set 3 (6 cards)
    set 4 (6 cards)
    set 5 (6 cards)
    set 6 (6 cards)

    – – – –

    set 7 (6 cards)
    set 8 (6 cards)
    etc…

    – – – –

    combined sets 1-6 (36 cards)
    combined sets 7-12 (36 cards)
    combined sets 13-18 (36 cards)
    etc…

    – – – –

    combined sets 1-36 (216 cards)
    combined sets 37-72 (216 cards)

    – – – –

    Hopefully you get the idea?

It would be great to be able to create long CSV files of 216 cards each, and then use just that one CSV file to generate ALL the flashcard sets above. In other words, if I wanted to generate set 2 above, that would be done by using a shortcode that just extracts terms 7-12 from the longer CSV file. (I’d still need the “shuffle cards” option though, and also the “max no. of cards” option.)

Here’s why I think this would be good:

    – fewer CSV files to manage.
    – if I make a mistake or need to change something, I’d only have to edit one CSV file, and not several.

Hope that’s all clear. Let me know if not.

    Cheers,
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel:
I missed your email again, sorry! Gmail put all of the wordpress support notifications into a tab with all of the other promotional emails, it’s really easy to miss them!
I think I understand your idea – you want to be able to specify a range of selection in your short code to extract a subset from the whole set of flash cards? I think its useful.
    Thanks,
    Liang

    Hi Liang,

Thanks for answering. Yes, that’s the idea exactly. Ideally I’d like to be able to create a pretty long set of flash cards, and then extract subsets from that long set.

    Best wishes,
    Daniel
