Idea: create a ‘save selection’ (like the Photoshop tool)

    Hey Marc,

    I have a suggestion:
    Would it be posible to make a layer selection like the ‘save-selection’ tool in Photoshop?

    I’m making a configurator for our controller webshop, you can customize the buttons / joysticks / trim / skin etc. But Alle the images come from our supplier and are already positioned on the exact location.
    Now I have to cut out all images separately, I do this with the ‘save selection’ option in Photoshop.

    But would it also be possible to build in something so that you process a ‘save selection’ option in your tool so that you can import all (complete / full)images and that it takes the parts you need that belong to that layer?

    I would like to hear from you if such a thing is possible. Because it could be that our supplier adjusts the position or something else that means that everything has to be made again.

    Hi Coen,

    I see. Unfortunately the editing features in WordPress are quite limited, and I don’t think this is a feature I could create…

    Thanks for your response and no problem.

    (And what if people could upload a .png, like a sort of heatmap? In that way the configuration could cut all unnecessary parts out of the image layer and applaying them to more pictures in the same layer.)

    You’d be better off trying to automate this in Photoshop I think.
    Alternatively if all the masking lines are sharp (no blurred lines), there could be a possibility to use SVG or to create masks using CSS (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/clip-path)…
