• I have a relatively small site shop built with woocommerce – very similarly set up to other shops I run. Recently when I went to add a new product I noticed that the ID was extremely high. For example – Product 1 = ID 23. Product 2 = ID 32 Product 3 = ID 70,000+.

For context, this site does not have news articles and doesn’t sell a particularly large amount either. A similar site which I’ve been running for many more years with a big news section, more products, many more sales is still only at around ID 18,000.

So what has caused the ID number to advance so high? My first thought was perhaps it had been hacked or something but Wordfence shows no issues. I checked my folders to see if any looked suspiciously large and they did not. Next step was to try and locate those ID numbers in the database but I have no idea how to go about this! In short – I feel a bit stuck at how to debug this issue further!

    Can anyone help?

to look inside your database —- you can often access PHPMYADMIN area in your web hosting control panel

your database is organized in tables
the table name you need is likely something like “wp_posts”
ids for all posts are listed that table

if you need assistance getting to PHPMYADMIN area — contact your web hosting vendor support team.

you could also start a topic in the woocommerce support area for plugin specific questions
