ID number assigned by CF7

    How do I control the ID number that is generated when I create a new contact form?

    I deleted a CF7 form which had an ID number used in several places throughout the site. Now when I create a new form to handle all the instances of that deleted form’s ID number, I get a randomly generated ID number which I cannot edit to match the one deleted.

    Is it possible to edit the number?

    You can’t edit the ID number, but you can edit the title of a contact form. When Contact Form 7 processes a [contact-form-7 …] shortcode, it uses the ID as a search key, then if the search fails, it will use the title as the second search key. So just give the new contact form the same title as old one.
