ID in category

A bizarre problem: I’m editing the category.php template page to customise it.

I want to show the category title (easy enough – single_cat_title()) and category description (again, simple… category_description())

Now… How do I show the category ID? I’ve been googling my brain out, but it seems that all ‘determining ID’ scripts are all from post, not from the category you’re currently viewing.

Any ideas?
