• Resolved pnaw10

Testing out a calendar which is not yet visible to the public.

I am creating/updating/deleting events in Google Calendar. Timely is configured to import the .ics feed live from Google, hourly.

I noticed no problems with Timely displaying new events as they are added, and when I changed/updated an existing event, Timely also updated. But when I tested out deleting an event in Google Calendar, it didn’t get deleted from Timely.

Not sure if this is a bug report or a feature, request but it would be nice if events deleted from the Google Calendar could also be deleted from my Timely Calendar within WordPress. Until then, I only need to create or edit events in one place (Google), but if I need to delete an event, I need to do it twice (once in Google, then again in WordPress).

If nothing can be done, it’s admittedly a minor issue I can definitely live with — the product is great otherwise. I’ve tried a variety of different calendar plugins to see which one would look the best and this is the one I’m going to go with, regardless of whether this issue can be resolved. Thank you!

  • Hi,

Do you have the following Feed option ticked?

On refresh, preserve previously imported events that are missing from the feed

If so, deleted or modified events will not be removed from the calendar.

Eureka! That’s it. I don’t remember ticking that box when I was setting it up, but I guess I must have done so. Just unticked it, refreshed, and everything’s working perfectly.

Thank you so much for the very fast and helpful response!!!!

No problem, glad I could help ??

Thank you for your review. We appreciate it!

I’m having the same problem, however the “On refresh, preserve previously imported events that are missing from the feed” option is not checked.

I believe my setup is the same as pnaw10’s – I’m using the All-in-One Event Calendar by Time.ly plugin to import an ICS feed (Actually, it’s seven different ICS feeds).

That option is not check on any of them. However, when I delete events from the google calendar, they don’t delete from the feed on my website.

    Anything else I can try?
    Thanks!
