  • Very glad to hear a solution is on the way!

Will this new version include a way to get rid of the messed up (date- and timeless) events that are bogging down our sites?

Thanks for working hard to put out a fix. Broken until then. Hope you add some new testing scenarios for the next release.

Wish I’d found this thread earlier. I’ve posted about this issue here which seemed to coincide with the WP 4.4 update.

I’ve wasted days trying all sorts of things….

@naturecoaster I’ve taken copy of my site local to try out the competition you mention and the same feeds work fine. You don’t need the pro version, just the basic version and paid for iCal importer @ $49. There’s a 3rd party plugin for colouring categories out there too. The calendar doesn’t have built in category filtering which you can then subscribe to, but does have a nice mini calendar widget.

I use both plugins across a number of sites, depending on the client sector. AI1EC is perfect for school sites, and now I know that they are about to release a fix, I’m going to wait to try it out before switching over to TEC.

And now I see that 4.4.1 is out. Hope that doesn’t break the fix…

Is there any more info on this issue? I have a affiliates using this plugin and would like to tell them good news.

I was told that they will be releasing a fix/update this week.

So the update is out, I installed it, and it does import my feed successfully.

HOWEVER, and here’s the big “BUT…” — I checked the first event it imported, which is one that had been in the feed previously, and found the number “127” appended to the event name. As in, this event is in my database previous 126 times – which explains why I have 12,000 extraneous events in my Events list. Unfortunately, I can’t bulk edit them, because the filters that might let me do that don’t work with the broken events. And they come up, for some inexplicable reason one to a page, then the page conks out and doesn’t show anymore. And if I do a search, it finds the first one, and none of the other 126… So how do I clean out my database now??

Updated and it worked fine for me. The problem now is that all the old, now broken events need to be manually deleted. All 964 of them. At least we seem to be running now. Thanks

I would suggest trying to delete all feeds and events prior. Just a thought.

I deleted all my feeds shortly after the WP update broke the plug-in (when I realized they were reimporting but creating new bad events rather than just overwriting the bad events).

Has anyone else seen the problem that I have where the bad events only show up one to a page in the Event list in the dashboard?

I welcome all ideas on how to delete them (that ideally don’t require going into the MySQL database directly)

    It works! Many thanks!

Version 2.3.5 is released, please upgrade your plugin to fix this bug.

    @kreicheltBulk Delete plugin should help.

    Thanks,
    Ben

Thank you Benjamin…regarding BULK DELETE PLUGIN, since the TIME.LY EVENTS aren’t listed as PAGES or POST, how do we indicate and delete them?

I deleted the ai1ec plugin and all its files, then installed the plugin fresh, reset my settings relisted each ical feed… just like when it was new. Thanks Ben and team! I am relieved and grateful.

As per post from @naturecoaster. I deleted plugin and data then installed new version, reset settings and setup ical feeds. All working ok.

    Many thanks

I had set up multiple event categories with associated colours and images and didn’t want to have to reimplement.

So I used the Bulk Delete plugin first (By Custom Post Type/ai1ec_event (Published & Draft) Delete Now) – takes a while – 5 mins on shared server for ~650 events & it didn’t do them all in one go!).

Then updated the AI1EC Plugin to 2.3.5

I then went to each feed and refreshed them.

Worked fine and fix has fixed it!

    Respect to @benjamin and team…
