Icons not showing in latest version

I think I got it. CloudFlare kept pulling the cached file rather than the updated one and after telling it to purge it a few times it finally pulled the new one for me.

I’m having the same exact issue on my website. It shows it when I’m in the customize screen. I can see the pictures in the squares, but when I save it, it doesn’t change my site. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it and the same issue.

@melissa It looks as though your theme may be using the simple_social_default_glyphs filter to alter the icons.

You could check the functions.php file for that filter and update the glyph codes with these ones: https://github.com/copyblogger/simple-social-icons/blob/develop/simple-social-icons.php#L100

i have the same problem.
The email Icon on my homepage https://socialmedia-doktor.de
is not showing.

I already tried with older versions of SSI and cleared the cache, but it did not help.
And I don′t find the simple_social_default_glyphs filter in my functions.php to make any changes.

Have you got any other idea to help me out?

It would be worth checking for the simple_social_default_glyphs filter in plugins and other theme files too. If I update the glyph for your email icon in Chrome developer tools, it reappears for me: https://d.pr/i/11uNZ

That usually suggests it’s been changed somewhere – if you can find the old email glyph () and swap it to the new one (), that should solve things for you.

This was already helpful.

After long time looking for the right function to make the change, I was finally able to find the mistake:

I use an extra widget to display each of the glyphs. In the widget was still the old glyph code, which of course did not update automatically.
