    Hello,

I updated to your newest version plugin but it removed two vital things on my website:

#1. You removed some of the stock icons you had originally been using. This is bad because with this update you broke my website’s visual – part of WHY I was using this plugin was to display icons in my navigation – but you removed them and in turn they are show no icons. A big no no in my eyes. You should have at least left the legacy icons in place and gave a warning that they will be removed. NOT say this is a “minor update” yet remove vital parts of it.

#2. You removed the ability to use a custom graphic for the icon. Again, another reason for using this plugin was the ability to use and create custom icons. Why did you remove this feature? It worked and was extremely usable.

Frustrating to update to a “minor update” for it to remove two vital parts of the usability to this plugin. Due to this, I have rolled back to the older plugin (thank you backups!)

Hope you can fix this as it was a highly liked plugin that I have installed on many projects.

    Cheers,

    Ash

Me too. I was using custom images on my menus and now they have all gone.

The only option I have for adding icons is DashIcons.

Yes, same issue. Please fix. Without custom images as icons, this plugin is useless to me.

    Thanks,

Could you guys please check that the icon types are enabled on the “Menu Icons Settings” meta box?

Yes, the Menu Icons Settings checkbox is enabled, but the only option shown by the plugin is “Dashicons”.

Another problem in version 0.9.0 when working in spanish: although I’ve updated my translation, most of the text chains (icon names, icon categories) remain untranslated.

See the Settings Meta Box (Global) screenshot.

The only explanation I can think of that caused the disappearing icon types is that you’ve never actually clicked the Save button, so there’s no settings found in the database and the new version is using the new defaults, which is Dashicons only.

OK, I see. Thanks for the explanation and the screenshot, Dzikri. Everything works fine now, except for the icon names, which remain untranslated.

On the other hand, is there any way to upload the .PO file from my spanish translation to “Translating WordPress”, so that I can translate all the plugin in a single step? Working online chain by chain is not very pleasant when I have all the plugin already translated.

I’ve just found why the icon names remain unstranslated in version 0.9.0: the text domain of icon name text chains has changed: from “menu-icons” of previous version (the plugin text domain) to “icon-picker”.

    Eduardo,

Correct. The “picker” part has been split as a library, located in includes/library/icon-picker. If you’d like to translate the icon names, please take the .POT file from includes/library/icon-picker/languages and put the .mo file in there. It should be loaded automatically.

I’ve uploaded the icon-picker-es_ES.mo file to includes/library/icon-picker/languages, but it doesn’t work. I’ve checked the code of Icon Picker library, and I’ve see that the “icon-picker” textdomain is not defined. Can it be the reason why it doesn’t work?

    Eduardo,

Please upgrade to 0.9.2 and put the translation file in the Icon Picker’s languages directory.

Thank you very much for your excellent support, Dzikri. Works like a charm!

Okay, like others. This update removed all my custom icons. This “Settings Meta Box (Global)” you refer to simply doesn’t exist on my install.

My options on the sidebar are

    Pages
    Google Forms
    Custom Links
    Categories

So is it possible my Google Forms plugin is preventing the loading of the “Meta Box”? I had to downgrade to 0.8.1 (which still wiped my custom icons). Then had to manually set them back to normal, since I couldn’t find a way on 0.9.2 to set custom icons.

Please enable Menu Icons Settings from the Screen Options dropdown on the top right of the screen first.

Thanks! no idea how I missed that.
