The avatars missing may be an issue with a conflicting image optimization plugin. You can test adding an exception for the placeholder.png file, or disable the optimization plugin(s) to check whether they are the cause. This can also be caused by some specific browser extensions, potentially blocking the external X CDN links.
As for the name, we are currently keeping Twitter as default due to the common usage of the name still. That being said you can change it to X! Make sure that you are on the latest version and go to Twitter Feed > Settings > Advanced tab and here you can find the setting to change the branding of the feed.
