Icons do not display “share” as an option

I recently installed the plugin, customized and saved my settings, and added to a post (and then updated the post). When at the web page, hover over the social media icons in just the right spot, and a blank text box appears over the icon. It does not say “share” or give any indication to a reader that if you click the blank box, they can share the post to their Facebook or twitter account. I added the “like” option to the Facebook icon, which then gives the option to click “like” and then has the small blank spot underneath, that if you click on it, you can share it. Where is the word “share” and how is a reader to know it’s an option if it is just a small blank text box?
