Icons Disappeared After Installing Older Theme Version

  • Hi,
    Thanks again for the excellent plugin! I had it working just fine until I installed an upgraded theme. After discovering problems with the newer theme (unrelated to Ultimate Social Media), I downgraded back to an older version of the theme using WP Rollback, only to now notice the Ultimate Social Media icons no longer appearing. I’ve double checked to ensure that my Sidebar Home and Sidebar Page (from within Widgets) contains the USM. I’ve even tried adding a USM shortcode into the Visual Editor, but to no avail. What I’ve noticed is that instead of displaying the USM icons, the webpage (https://tradablepatterns.com) allocates a row of blank space where the USM icons would normally appear.

    Any help would be much appreciated!

  • My social icons disappeared overnight! Where have they gone? They were at the bottom of every single post but now only show if I change them to floating, but nothing else works. If you can help me, I am really not a techie so please speak to me like I’m a toddler…..

    This seems to be a template issue. Please re-install the plugin to make sure it’s not an issue with the installation. Please also check the faq: https://www.ultimatelysocial.com/faq.

    If issues persist, please provide screenshots of the backend (your selections) and the front-end, i.e. where you would expect the icons to show. Please also provide the site url.

    Thank you for your incredibly speedy reply!! I gave up and deleted my social icons and installed the plus version, starting from scratch. Seems okay but there is one rather odd thing. In the older version there was a banner you could display containing the icons and with text above them encouraging people to follow your social pages and this is still showing on the plus version but I don’t like it! ???

    A cache plugin may cause the icons still to show, as they are saved in the cache, although you already removed them. Otherwise, if you removed them (either de-selected them in the plugin, or de-installed the entire plugin) then they also won’t show.

    Hmmm…..it’s just the words above them I don’t want, I didn’t put them there! I guess I’ll figure it out by accident (that’s how I fix things lol) ??
