• Hey!

I, along with a few others, work on a site for a gaming community, and was wondering about a little feature we could implement into our site.

Currently, we use the Groups plugin to define permissions and things, which works great. I was wondering though, if it would be possible to get a small icon, probably 64×64 at most, beside the user’s name depending on their group.

I have searched around the forums a bit, and found this post about icons next to comments, but not next to all names. I also found this which includes names from everywhere on the site, but doesn’t really explain how to do so in much detail. I also found this post, which seems to do what I need, but I don’t really understand how to customise it for multiple groups, or where to call the code from.

As someone from a Java development background, I am easily lost with php stuff due to it’s vast differences, which is another reason the posts I linked above are not all that useful to me.

As far as I can tell, the best way to do this would be to check for the user’s level given in the “level_x” with Groups, and every time the name is displayed this would show an icon depending on this level. I’m not sure if this is the most efficient way however, but it was the one I saw in the other posts.

Again, sorry if it seems that I’m a little helpless with this. I’ll do my very best to work with any help I’m given. One final little question I have would be where the code would go. I assume it’ll be in a file from the edit menu, but I’m not sure which one.

Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this. I appreciate everyone’s support ??
    Luis
