    Hi, guys!
I have a major problem. Few hours ago WordPress suggested me to upgrade my theme Iconic one to the lastest version. My problem is that all my theme customisations made by me in the editor now is back to default. And I made a lot of changes.
Why?! And how can I go back to my edited theme??!

Did you modify theme files directly without using a child theme? If so, yes, that’s what happens when themes are updated.

Do you have a backup of your site?

    Yes, I think I have a back-up. At least I have some plug-ins for back-up.
And yes, I modified my theme without a child theme. But this is the first time when an upgrade made me this.

You will have to restore from backup if you have not gone the child theme route.

Also, when you click on update WordPress tells you that all your customizations will be lost. This is because during update all files are overwritten.

    Anybody else doing the upgrade:
Copy all your modifications safely before performing update. If all your mods are in a child theme then you do not have to worry.
