Hello guys, I only just started working with Blocksy and I suspect that this is one of those idiot questions that long-term users are annoyed by. However, I couldn’t Google an answer or find it on the forum, so…

I’m using Blocksy to maintain a very simple site. The layouts aren’t easily shareable but I can describe the problem clearly in a couple of sentences.

I have five pages, each of which shares the same header structure.

    ICON homepage page1 page2 page3 page4

The texts and links to page1, page2… are absolutely fine.

I’d like to make these two changes:
    * I don’t want to display the ‘homepage’ text and its link
    * I do want to link the ICON to the homepage

This is a very standard operation, which I’ve been able to achieve in other themes by editing the header template. Blocksy seems to have another layer of abstraction between me and the produced layout and I can’t figure out its logic.

    TIA, NP.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @niftyprose

You have a few options in your case.

First one, would be to use a Mega Menu link. We offer that with Blocksy Premium.
If you’re not part of Blocksy Premium, you could integrate Font Awesome –https://fontawesome.com — on your website and change the menu label to one of their home icons.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Thanks

    Hello @niftyprose,
Sorry, not sure I totally understood you…

Are you trying to add an icon in to your menu item? Something like this?

If I understood you wrong, please share an explanatory screenshot.

    Thank you!

Hi @niftyprose, did you found a way to achieve what you where looking for?

Thanks to Eduard for a prompt response. The requirement to have the main icon clickable so as to provide the user with a quick route back to the index page is fundamental to any website design which I’m likely to produce. I was most surprised to find that Blocksy’s free version doesn’t offer it. Accordingly, I uninstalled Blocksy and switched to Astra. Best, NP.

    Hi @niftyprose

Sorry to see you go, but you can definitely achieve this with Blocksy Free as well, just not out of the box.

Let us know if you require further assistance on this one.

    Thanks

    Hello @niftyprose,
Could you please show me an example (your website url) with the icon that you added so I could make sure we are discussing about the same thing?

    Thank you.
