    Hi!

Been starting to use the the iCal feature. I wonder how to only make authenticated users subscribe to this calendar. Publishing all booking information via a public link on the internet seems like somewhat a security breach?

As far as I can see the iCal-format support basic auth so just placing the link behind “wp-admin” would probably do (then the user subscribing could add the credentials in the url)

    Regards!
    /Erik

Elaborating a bit here. Basic auth is not supported OOTB in WordPress but could be achieved with plugins. However I suppose there could be other (supported) ways to put the iCal webfeed behind an authenticated endpoint.

    Hi,

Not all the iCal readers/software support authentication, for that reason a unique iCal URL is generated for each website, allowing to subscribe it without revealing the iCal address. We are looking forward to implement an optional authentication, so it can continue supporting both softwares with and without basic authentication.

    Thank you for the feedback!

Yeah noticed that in google calendar for example. Would be great with such an implementation!

    Thanks!
