• For those who are interested in moving their blog entries out of Lifli Software’s iBlog application, migrating their data to something server-based, I’d like to present Agitprop, my Cocoa application for harvesting your iBlog entries and converting the data to a MovableType import file so you can migrate the information to MovableType, WordPress, etc.

    https://www.tyborg.com/agitprop

It’s worked out well enough for me. I wrote it to migrate my nearly 300 blog entries from iBlog to WordPress 1.2.x and WordPress 1.5. I then used Ecto to tweak the various entries once they were up in the server and things have gone smoothly ever since.

Consider this my gift to the Mac OS X users of the WordPress community <grin>

grrr, sorry, misunderstood the “code in between backticks” hint.

    The website for Agitprop is:

    enjoy!

(Sorry – just edited your post for you !)

Okay, I used Agitprop to get the data out of iBlog but how do you use ecto to get it in to WordPress?

I tried a generic RSS import and it included a lot of trash. I don’t want to have to manually edit all those posts!! Not only that but it only posted one month’s worth of posts for some reason. :-/

    tyborg,

having a tough time importing to WP from agitprop output. WP starts the process and ends it saying “have fun” but no posts in blog –> importing to MAMP server.

    help?
